Longspan shelving is a heavy duty hand loaded storage system that is designed to store large, heavy and bulky items. The long span of the shelves can extend up to a length of 2.4M and gives a shelf depth of 1.2M front to back. The stepped beams are designed to take 25mm thick chipboard, but we recommend fitting steel panels for the decking as these can achieve known weight loadings.
Longspan shelving can also be used to create high rise installations that work with “man risers” or “order picking machines” which are guided either by wire or conventional guide rails. It can also be used to create two tier storage systems that make very efficient use of available headroom.
Each bay can support loads up to 7000kg conditional on the first beam level being no higher than 1000mm and subsequent shelf levels being no greater than 700mm apart, vertical centre to centre.
Height of the racks can extend up to 7M. However, this is the type of shelving system that you would be better off discussing with our sales office because there are many options and methods of design. The sales team would be able to advise you on the most economical solution.
